| Looking like an army of dusty monks trudging over a desert rise, an estimated 17,000 of these limestone formations are the dominant attraction in Nambung National Park near Cervantes. The strange formations rise out of the sand, reaching heights ranging from less than an inch to nearly twelve feet. Even the early spring sun in this rock-infested desert is blistering. And adding to the eerie sense of isolation, the quite is so complete that sand blowing against the rocks sounds like waves crashing on a beach. | ![]() |
